The Best Companies to Work for in New York State program is a partnership between the NYS-SHRM, The Business Council of New York, and Best Companies Group. The Best Companies to Work for in New York State awards are celebrating 10 years of recognizing the best employers in the state. It is a distinctive program that evaluates and ranks the best places of employment based on employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as workplace practices and policies.
To be considered for participation, companies enter into a two-part survey process and fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Newburgh, NY (April 25, 2017) – RBT CPAs, LLP, is pleased to announce that it is #2 among the top 46 small/medium employers in the state, according to the New York State Society for Human Resource Management’s (NYS-SHRM) annual Best Companies to Work for in New York State awards program.
Created in 2007, this annual program evaluates and ranks the best places of employment in the state based on employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as workplace practices and policies. It is unique because employees’ survey responses count for 75% of the ranking formula.

RBT CPAs, LLP enjoys over a 45-year history of providing audit, tax, accounting, and business development consulting services to business owners in the Hudson Valley and New York Metropolitan area. We are one of the largest public accounting firms in the area with offices in Newburgh, Wurtsboro, Poughkeepsie, and Wappingers Falls. Our highly qualified team of 105, including 49 CPAs and 11 partners, serves a variety of clients and our size, strength, and resources allow us to provide them with the personal attention they deserve.

Every day when I come into work I feel a sense of belonging. I am an associate at the firm and feel strongly that I would not have learned as much in the first few short months at a different organization, or felt the same sense of loyalty to my firm had I started somewhere else. Whenever I am given something to work on, although I have a sense of independence, I never feel abandoned. This is a key factor for a new hire with big aspirations.
I feel the company does an outstanding job communicating to the Team the companies vision and goals. It truly is a Team! They also really believe in work/home balance. They are committed to improving each employees career with ongoing in-house training and a mentoring program.

The company cares about helping young accountants so much that it started a free in-house CPA review course to help all employees obtain their license.
The leaders are supportive. Positive feedback is given continuously. They show confidence in the team’s work and truly want its people to succeed. The people are nice. It’s not a dictatorship. People can speak their opinions and they are seriously considered. Birthday celebrations in office. Work anniversary cards with dinner gift certificates sent in the mail. The organization supplies all the employees with the tools, the continuing education and a good atmosphere to work in. The firm works with the employees to insure that they are able to balance the work load with family life(even through the busy season). There is constant communication between management and the employees.
